Dr. Dre Sues “Rollin With Dr. Dre” Author For $100,000

Hip Hop super producer Dr. Dre is no stranger to the court room. The hitmaker who’s been involved in numerous lawsuits this year will be heading back to court after filing a $100,000 lawsuit against author and former friend, Bruce Williams.According to the lawsuit filed on Tuesday, October 28th, in L.A. County Superior Court, Dr. Dre claims he loaned Williams $101,377.85 and hasn’t seen a dime of the loan since.

Earlier this year, Williams released “Rollin’ With Dre: An Insider’s Tale of the Rise, Fall and Rebirth of West Coast Hip Hop,”  which chronicled the struggles of Dre and others in hip hop revealing such gems as “Suge Knight once gave Snoop Dogg a BMW 850 two-seater for his birthday in blue — Crip colors. Snoop enjoyed it until cops surrounded it one day — it had been stolen.”

Since it’s release, the book hasn’t brought about the best of luck for the good doctor. During a launch party for the written work, two men were hit from gunshots fired, causing the celebrations to end abruptly.

One of the man was fatally wounded while the other was left in critical condition.

Rick Ross Denying CO Shit Again?

ATLANTA — Rick Ross will not confirm or deny anything about his alleged past as a prison guard. He says it’s too ridiculous to worry about. And the Boss laughs off all the jokes and supposedly Photoshopped images of him that have circulated the Internet. He’s having the time of his life.

“Anytime a rumor comes up like, ‘Is Ross is getting married?’ I don’t address it, because that’s my life,” he said Thursday in Atlanta. “At the same time, if it’s some haterism going on, I’m most definitely not gonna entertain it, because it’s not trill. I define trill as being successful, doing you, being creative, living your life. My music is very sincere to me.”

Besides being one of the nicest MCs with the wordplay right now, Ross owes part of his strong appeal to his rep on the street. As he records his third LP, Deeper Than Rap, he promises that everything he’s rapped regarding his street hustling is real.

“It’s very authentic,” he said. “I feel that no other artist could have endured this,” he added of the recent controversy.

“If you think I didn’t get no money, God bless your heart,” he continued about his time on the streets. “I had the P. Diddy watch at 19. I saw what they wanted, and I had it. I don’t get on the airwaves and tell people I’m out on bond now facing prison time right now and have been for the past year and a half. That’s not what I glorify. That’s not what I want my daughter to read about or my son to read about. You ever notice in all the rumors that they never bring up my record? They don’t want you to know the boy really does his thing. But I’m not finin’ to go and say, ‘Hey, [the online Department of Corrections documents are] inaccurate.’ … But that’s entertainment. I’m the best. You see me on the cover of XXL magazine with no shirt on. I’m living my dream.”

Ross’ Deeper Than Rap is coming at the top of 2009 on his own Maybach Music by way of Def Jam (though he’s still handling some business to get out of his Slip-N-Slide contract). It’s looking like the album will feature production (yes, production, as in beats) by T.I., Kanye West and J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, among others. He just dropped a mixtape, Still the Trillest, with DJ Infamous and continues to keep a myriad of concert performances on his schedule. His popularity has not suffered from any of the rumors still dogging him. When you talk to Ross, grimaces are hard to find, and smiles come in abundance. He feels he’s at the most creative and competitive period in his career, and he certainly has more money than ever.

“When people write something, if it’s something that’s not authentic, they don’t know what I’ve lived,” he said. “They don’t know what I did; they’ll never know. If you think [what I talk about] is fake, don’t get yourself hurt out here. Don’t get it twisted. All you rappers trying to come up … don’t do that. You’ll learn the hard way. I don’t do no threatening; I keep it 100. When you see me, keep it 100. Say what you feel. That’s what I do, that’s what I always do. What I come from and what I represent, you can never disrespect it.”

50 Cent Disagrees With Eminem, Fires Warning Shots At Rick Ross

50 Cent can admit when he is totally wrong and his gambles don’t pay off. For most of last year, he took the advice of Interscope Records and fell back from the mixtape circuit because the label had advised him that it was taking away from his official record sales. That was right around the time DJ Drama and Don Cannon were having issues with the RIAA.

But 50 has made up for lost time in the past six months, releasing three mixtapes since last fall.

“They think I’m crazy,” 50 told us last week in his Connecticut mansion, chuckling about what Eminem and Shady Records tell him about giving away so much material for free. “Sometimes [Em] misses why I put it out. He goes, ‘Why did you put it out?’ But I can’t be as hot as I’m gonna be if I don’t play around. I gotta spar before I go fight the champ. That’s my concept of it. If I don’t go out and make material and lock in, I’m not gonna make the best possible material for the next [official] project.”

Fif — who has been working on a new freestyle with Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo over the beat of Snoop Dogg’s “Neva Have 2 Worry” — obviously hasn’t been slowed down by any of his recent issues with his hip-hop peers. Lately he and Fat Joe have been going back and forth in interviews, songs and Photoshopped pictures on the Web.

“The Hip-Hop Weekly [a fake cover] came out, and it was a thing with [Benzino] supposed to be [sleeping] with Fat Joe’s wife,” 50 said. “I didn’t make that. I didn’t have anyone [Photoshop] that. Why would you do that? I work for Hip-Hop Weekly? They’ll know that there are issues between me and Joe, so when he approaches them, they’ll say, ‘Nah, it must be 50. You know how 50 is.’ But I didn’t care, ’cause I don’t like Joe neither. It doesn’t matter to me that they did it, but it didn’t come from me.”

But several days ago, 50 did hold a mock funeral for Joe online. In the video, he started to cry, saying the SoundScan returns of Joe’s The Elephant in the Room killed him. He also warned Joe’s friend Rick Ross not to align himself too tightly with the Terror Squad general.

“Rick Ross is doing good,” 50 elaborated. “I also complimented him that he had the #1 album. I said, ‘Just don’t stand too close to this fat piece of …’ I’m saying that because of what [Joe’s] trying to do. He runs to Miami and hangs out with them like he’s running Miami? Does Fat Joe run Miami? I don’t think Fat Joe runs Miami. I think people from Miami would be upset you’re even questioning that. The fact he can influence DJ Khaled on the radio, does that mean Fat Joe runs Miami? … I don’t care if [Khaled] ever plays my records. He’s not important enough to what I’m doing for it to matter. Not to say Miami doesn’t count. He doesn’t count for it to matter to me.”

The G-Unit album, tentatively titled Shoot to Kill, is slated for this summer, while Fif’s next solo LP, Before I Self Destruct, is coming toward the end of this year.

Birdman Released and Speaks Out

As previously reported, Cash Money Records CEO Birdman and his brother Ronald “Slim” Williams” were among 16 people arrested for marijuana possession in Kingsport, Tennessee.According to the Kingsport News Times, the 16 person entourage left the Kingsport Justice Center in rental cars at 1:30 am this morning (Wednesday 28), after posting $1,500 bonds.Originally reported to have been arrested with a pound of marijuana, the Cash Money Records co-founder denies the claim and states that there was only a “misdemeanor amount” inside the RV.
Birdman continued to denounce reports stating that he isn’t in trouble with the law for carrying guns.

“The guns we had were good. I do carry a gun and I am licensed,” Baby told MTV. “Tennessee is one of the states I can tote in. We know the guidelines [for carrying weapons].” Baby also took the time to clarify that he is NOT married and that the 18-year old woman Kingsport News Times originally reported to be his wife is merely a friend of someone in his entourage.
“I’m not married. Never! Been! Married! Plus, that girl was 18!” Baby said. “I don’t get down like that! Plus, if I was married, why would I keep it a secret?”
While a court date has been set for March 11, Birdman is currently promoting the release of his upcoming solo album, 5 * Stunna, which hits shelves December

Young Buck Admits To Messing Around With Lil Wayne’s Woman..

Young Buck is definitely all in with the G-Unit. He’s been working on their December release, Shoot to Kill, but Mr. Ten-A-Key is also working on his own compilation — Young Buck Presents: Product of the South.

“I’m establishing me right now,” he said of his Cashville Records. “I signed C-Bo from the West Coast, as well as my own group, 615 — that’s me, a cat by the name Lil’ Murder and High-C. I said, ‘I’ll drop a [compilation] album.’ … That’ll be the bridge to their project. Everybody is going to get a single and a video.”

Buck’s label is independent. “I’m sure you know these labels ain’t really giving a lot of money out to start a situation,” he explained. “What I did was create my own buzz pretty much promoting G-Unit South. I wanted to name my label G-Unit South, but I knew [Interscope Records Chairman] Jimmy [Iovine] wasn’t going to let any other label have the luxury of having the name G-Unit. … [So] I wanted to start something fresh, brand new, create a whole new brand.”

Buck released “Driving Down the Freeway” with the Outlawz and says he’s actually picking up jewels from them.

“It’s an even thing,” he said. “It’s more me being quiet and learning off of them sometimes. It’s things in the game they been through and I haven’t learned yet. It’s a learning process. They bring a lot to the table on their own. I’m just pretty much bringing their career more to the forefront. I feel that the Outlawz as well as C-Bo never got their just due.”

The unabashed Southerner feels the same way about himself. “I ain’t get what I deserved at Interscope,” he said. “I feel my album [Buck the World] is better than Kanye’s album * NO nigga*and 50’s album, but it’s one of the most slept-on albums due to whatever reason. I’m still trying to get what I deserve off of Interscope, so it’s still a hustle to me.”

Buck noted that he and 50 are on great terms, and when and if 50 leaves the ‘Scope for free agency, Buck and the rest of G-Unit will be with him.

“All of us are signed to G-Unit,” Buck said. “If 50 goes, we all go. I stand behind Interscope with all the power I can. I’m sure there’s a lot of people that put in as much work as they could for Young Buck and the G-Unit crew, but it’s a lot of people that won’t too. At the end of the day, I can only speak specifically on mine. As far as the marketing, I don’t think they knew how to market a project such as mine. When you have a song like ‘Get Buck’ and ‘You Ain’t Going Nowhere,’ there’s no lane. You can’t just market me to the South. I’m worldwide. I come with the Southern background but worldwide flow. They have to understand how big I aim outside of 50 Cent to get the push from them. I’m still in the shadow of 50 to them, but to the streets, I’m Young Buck. I’m my own person. I just gotta get my label to understand that part.”

Now to the scandalous: Everyone is quiet familiar with 50’s line in “Fully Loaded Clip,” in which he raps, “When Trina was telling [Lil] Wayne, ‘I love you, boo’/ She was running games, she told Buck that too.” Buck insists it’s all gospel.

“It’s the truth, it’s the f—ing truth! 50 is not f—ing lying,” Buck proclaimed. “You want me to tell you the truth? I’mma tell you the truth. I was messing with her while she was messing with [Wayne]. I would hear him on the phone [in the background] every now and then while she’s laying right there. She knows it. 50 ain’t doing nothing but speaking the truth.”

So what about Lil’ Kim? There is Internet footage of the Queen Bee grinding all over Young Buck onstage, then she has miraculously mended all beef with 50.

“She’s cool,” he downplayed, all of a sudden getting shy. “She came out onstage, hollered a couple of times. At the end of day, she’s doing her, and I’m doing me. … Ask Lil’ Kim what she thinks of Young Buck. What do I think of Lil’ Kim? She’s cool.”

He says the same about Byrd Gang leader Jim Jones. The two of them are cool in a way different way from him and Kim, of course, but cool nonetheless.

“I never had a problem with Jim Jones,” Buck said. “Jim Jones visited my city a long time ago and saw what type of individual I was. That was the bridge for 50 Cent to even say, ‘OK, I’mma see what’s up with Jim.’ Me and Jim was on the same page. Jim is about getting his paper, that’s what it really is about. It’s all about keeping it real too. That was my issue with Lil Wayne and all them: Keep it real with the real n—as. You come around stealing our swagger. What y’all see, the bling-bling and all that, they stole all that from Cashville. It’s hard for me to explain all this sh– because they know what the truth is. It’ll get more interesting as it goes.” …
