50 Cent: “Young Buck Is No Longer In G-Unit”

50 Cent has made it clear about the status of Young Buck, one of his artists who has had a shaky relationship with the company for several months. 50 Cent revealed today that the Tennessee rapper was no longer in G-Unit the group, but would still record for the label.

“You can look at it and see that’s Game [former G-Unit rapper] all the way. I was giving him a chance, giving him the benefit of the doubt [to remain with the group]. You can take this as an official notice right here – pretty much you can say: Young Buck is no longer in the group G-Unit, but signed to G-Unit [Records] as a solo artist,” 50 Cent told DJ Envy, a co-host on the Hot 97 Morning Show with Miss Jones.

Most recently, Young Buck revealed that he had not collected any royalty income as an artist on G-Unit Records, a subsidiary of Interscope. Those reports were quickly dispelled by Sha Money XL, manager of Young Buck, who said the rapper was “waving the G-Unit flag strong.”

“There has been a new rumor going around that 50 Cent has not paid Young Buck any royalties,” Sha Money XL told AllHipHop.com. “I, as Buck’s manager and as former President of G-Unit Records, want to make it clear: that is false. Young Buck has cleared over $10 million dollars working under 50 Cent’s and my guidance.”

Young Buck, born David Darnell Brown, was expected to appear on Shoot to Kill, the follow up to G-Unit’s 2003 debut album titled Beg For Mercy.

Young Buck once was to lead the charge for 50 Cent’s G-Unit Sout imprint. Instead, the rapper started Cashville Records and signed rap vet C-Bo and The Outlawz, who were a part of Tupac’s inner circle of emcees.

But has also started David Brown clothing to supplement his rap offerings.

50 Cent and The Game initially parted ways, because the Compton upstart wouldn’t assume beefs with Nas and Fat Joe that the rest of G-Unit had declared.

G-Unit Associates Arrested In Blood Gang Sweep

An associate of G-Unit rapper Tony Yayo who is accused of brandishing a gun at a music industry rival’s son was arrested in a massive sweep of members of the Bloods street gang last week.

Police in Queens, New York rounded up 34 suspected gang members on charges ranging from narcotics and weapons possession to robbery, attempted murder and murder.

Lowell “Lodi Mack” Fletcher is a self-proclaimed member of 50 Cent’s G-Unit camp who is also under investigation for his role in the assault of Jimmy “Henchmen” Rosemond’s son.

In May, Fletcher, 29, was charged with various misdemeanor offenses, for allegedly flashing a gun at Rosemond’s son during an altercation in which rapper Tony Yayo allegedly backhanded the teen for wearing a Czar Entertainment shirt.

Czar handles the careers of rappers like Gucci Mane and The Game, who has a long running feud with 50 Cent and G-Unit.

Police accuse Fletcher of being a high ranking member of the Bloods.

Also arrested was Robert “Dead Eye” Baley, another self-proclaimed G-Unit member who was a high ranking member of the Bloods allegedly running a drug ring that was earning $15,000 dollars per week selling heroin, marijuana and other narcotics.

Baley ran a Hip-Hop label, Deadvision Entertainment which released his mixtape Long Time Comin.

The rapper’s Myspace page already has posted a single titled “Free Dead Eye” featuring Baley rhyming “I Run Far Rock” over 50 Cent’s smash single “I Get Money” single.

The entire sweep netted almost 10 pounds of cocaine, 13 guns, two bulletproof vests and $120,000 in cash.

“Baley’s arrest and those of higher-echelon Bloods gang members sends an important message that law enforcement will continue to aggressively track down and prosecute both drug dealers and violent criminals a like who seek to terrorize our communities,” District Attorney Richard Brown said. “Today’s street gangs– such as the Bloods – are involved in a wide range of criminal activities, including drugs and weapons trafficking and the use of violence to protect and expand their territory, often harming innocent individuals caught in the crossfire. Yesterday’s arrests and the others resulting from this investigation will take us along way to improving the quality of the life for the residents of Far Rockaway and in reducing gang-related violence and other criminal activity throughout Queens.”

The investigation, known as “Operation Bloodhound” began in September 2006 and included extensive physical surveillance, court-authorized electronic surveillance and search warrants.

“This case in Queens is an important blow to the nexus between gangs and drugs and also a step toward safeguarding the residents put in danger by this activity,” added New York Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly.

Sha Money: “Every Beef Is Squashed, G Unit’s Back”

G-UNITFormer G Unit president, Sha Money XL, has been rather busy lately. From heading his own Management company to plotting G Unit’s come back, Sha spoke with MTV and discussed future projects including Young Buck’s new clothing line and G Unit’s comeback.“The whole squad [was there],” Sha Money said about a meeting in which the group came together and talked in-house business. The results, as we heard recently from 50’s tracks “I’m on Some Shit” and “Southside,” which both feature Banks and Tony Yayo, is that G-Unit are back.

“G-Unit is back. Every beef is squashed” he continued.

Sha also cleared the air in regards to the tension between him Fif and said he doubts the G Unit CEO will replace him with another president.

“There is no replacement,” Sha tells MTV. “There’s 50 Cent. 50 Cent is the president and CEO of G-Unit. He’s not gonna replace anyone. He has to fix things himself now, outside of [his manager] Chris Lighty, and Chris Lighty has a lot of responsibilities with Diddy and his other clients.

There’s a lot of pressure. 50’s under a lot of pressure. But he’s really killing it. He’s doing what he got to do. It’s frustrating and I tried to tell him that’s the frustration I used to have. I’m one man, Interscope has 500 people. Some things you just can’t fix. People in L.A. are real Zen. [New Yorkers are] more aggressive. And Fif is really aggressive. He wants to see results now. The same things I tried to conquer before I brought [them] to him, I was knocking down walls myself. ‘Cause you don’t want it to be like always going to Daddy. But it was the same thing that happened with Banks, so he’s experiencing it a year later.

Last year, I was mad. But eights months later, I’m good.”

Sha is currently in Las Vegas with Young Buck prepping the launch of the Cashville rapper’s new clothing and watch line, the “David Brown Collection.”
